The removal of casinos has nothing to do with people being scammed. It has to do with people using them as a front for RMT.
Wouldn't that *gasp* make RMT easier to track?

Nah that'd make too much sense.

This. Casinos on live were always fun. The RMT laundry argument is weak (casino operators are literally blasting their name in OOC as a person of RMT interest. Plus why do you actually give a damn about 100% policing RMT on your free, nonprofit server unless it's cutting into your monopoly?).

The reality is it's a nonclassic power trip based on the distaste for casinos that has always existed in a lot of the EQ playerbase. I remember casino operators catching shit from the community back in the day too. They can get spammy and lots of moral police just have a base Christian reaction to the idea. The rule itself is just a matter of there being no-life nerds who make believe that they somehow improve the server by giving themselves little mini-orgasms enforcing superfluous rules, policing the raid scene and playerbase and calling dead people pieces of shit.

Casinos exploit people with addiction problems. Who do you think we are? Sony?

It would be nice if casinos were brought back in some form. I think an npc casino wouldn't be classic because that didn't exist until luclin?
