Few of us on Red ready for the 10th but hesitant because last we heard still buggy.

If its still buggy perhaps the beta server can be brought up and more testing there

Well, failing the 10th ring doesn't cause you to start all over. You just turn in the Dirk and say the phrase again for another declaration.

The problem right now is that many people had their Dirk's eaten at faction levels where it shouldn't have been eaten (basically any non-KoS faction). Once petitions get people their dirks restored and a patch allows Dirk turnins at Dubious and above, all will be right.

I believe the Dirk gives a hidden flag allowing you to say the phrase and receive the Declaration, at least that's how it was on beta.
I had mine eaten as well.

Bump.

Ally is correct for Protection of the drain

Warmly is INCORRECT for the Declaration of War. It should instead be set to Dubious.

It is unfortunate there are no within-era posts about required faction. Perhaps people at the time chose to be full ally so there would be no possible issues with losing their items.

Pending update,
-Removed faction requirement for dirk turn in

Ally requirement for hackle hammer and protection of the dain remain.

I looked very very hard to find something from 2000-2001. Even using google set to that. I know it's anecdotal but I don't remember turning in giant stuff to the dwarves I'm pretty sure I was always turning them in to skyshrine. I also never killed Tormax on live or even tagged him.

Are you refunding dirks to those who lost them? I made a separate post in the reimbursement section. Or do we just flagged or however the mechanic works?

I can't imagine it would require high Dain faction.

Raising Dain faction is a huge pita. Basically you have to grind quests or farm King Tormax/His Guards.

Not everyone who did 9th Ring was farming Giants. At least not those specific ones and not enough to hit max/warmly. It takes like 2-3 Tormax hits or like 100~ Tormax guard hits to get up there.

I looked through the monk/rogue/cleric boards and allakhazam and couldn't find any talk of faction pre-2002. But I doubt this is something that would've been retroactively reduced.

If you lost a dirk to this situation, it should be reimbursable by a GM, yes. Be sure to include as much information as possible, as well as a link to this post.

If Coldain Ring #10 is able to be finished now, shouldn't Shawl #7 be available??

Does seem very fair to Caster/Priests when one item is restricted by the time line and another is not.
