HMM...I might do this one day if I get my bard high enough. I can do it on my druid but only with animals. The principles are the same whichever class is doing it but the mechanics are slightly different.
Are there something about the mechanics that make it less useful than enchanter charming? It seems like it would be a great way for a bard to add dps to any group they are in but you don't see it mentioned nearly as often. Much easier to find videos on swarm kiting than it is to find one on using charm effectively [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Charm kiting is less...eh...fruitful than swarm-kiting, because if you can kill hundreds of mobs in 30 minutes instead of two mobs every 5 minutes, why go charm kiting? Not everyone who plays a bard is into mass genocide, it's just the most interesting thing bards can do so you get a lot of video of it.

As for bards in groups doing it, they're usually twisting a bunch of songs for other purposes and having a charmed pet break and beat on them is more trouble than it's worth most of the time. Plus, charm spells do use mana for bards.

You can actually charm kite and swarm kite at the same time. I haven't done that myself but I did find a guide on that very thing on the forums.

The most famous bard charm kiting incident is actually with Fansy the Famous Bard [You must be logged in to view images. If i am chantering with a bard in group the standard deal is the bard charms the first add, i am responsible for anything more than that. It works out incredibly well if the bard isnt retarded.

I had forgot that bard charms required mana and I had never heard of Fansy...that was a good read!
