I've been trying to get some HQ tundra Kodiak pelts in EW. Snow cougars, tundra Kodiaks, mammoths, walrus and wooly rhinos are all animals. Wooly rhinos and snow griffons are just going green at 54 and easy kills.

I'm jealous you get to solo like that. 1 - 60 face tanking was interesting though.

You should check out Iceclad near Tower of Frozen Shadows at 34. Everything on track is dark blue, plenty of snow cougars with tiny hp pools and snow guardians.

Cougars are decent at 31 but not omfgamazing. The social agro isn't fun but that's the case pretty much anywhere. I found it was safer to fear kite on the side far side of the first island, past ToFS and opposite the docks. The cougars path through the dock area way too much for my liking.

I didn't find myself running out of mana even not having access to clickies but I guess that may vary with your gear setup. Ranger had an FBSS, Springwood stave and other misc items and did pretty well. Pull with snare, panic animal.. chase the mob and recast when necessary. You can throw a DoT on the mobs if you want to increase the speed but it gets less efficient that way.

Having tried this out now, I agree with everything said here. My gear isn't as good as all that, but what I do have is sufficient.

Being careful to pull to a spot free of adds is critical.

Yeah I tried Cougars but HHK guards were still way faster.

I found the 'beach' near the gnolls, close to the tofs zoneline safe kite spot for cougars.

Takes about 50 kills per level for low 30s.

Like ChiefRocka I found using stinging swam just meant I had to take med breaks (time spent not melee DPSing) so I advise only to use DOTs it if you are anticipating a break anyway.

Edit: cougars seemed to take a while to kill for me, are they really such low hp for the level? I figured oldworld stuff would be much faster!

Gator tunnel in caricature is definitely doable starting at 30 or 31. Once you break first three gators you can fear kite them from the spawn points of the first 2 static spawns. harmony is your friend here
