basilisk hatchlings. lvl 7 or 8 or somethin. they were massive underconning stun-locking assholes
These, along with the drakes were added with the newbie armor quests or right before. They definitely weren't in classic.

Basilisk hatchlings were most definitely in Butcherblock from the beginning. That's one of my earliest memories, getting my arse handed to me by one of those.

I don't recall them in GFay in the beginning, though.

By the way Drem, you should probably mention that you didn't start playing till Kunark.
We're still on vanilla.

classic era Gfay mob list: http://web.archive.org/web/200012131....shtml?zone=56

shadowknight from the nameless

i started feb 2000. i played with crimson tempest thru parts of velious but quit whenever gamecube/xbox/ps2 were released in about nov 2001 i guess

came back and played a necromancer named Lytus in Ascentia during plane of power
My guess is you remember these mobs from when you started playing your second time aroun during PoP. It's okay man, these memory lapses happen to all of us.

fair enough

it just seems extremely unvaried and stale after you're forced to fight orcs at level 4 because they're the only things in the zone higher than level 2 except a few random pixies

and, as per your webarchive post, there is a fae drake, tho it's low lv, and i've yet to see one in p99. maybe i'm just unlucky

PS that webarchive is neat, didn't know that sort of thing existed

Word, it's very useful for researching all sorts of things. it's tricky at times but you will get the hang of it.

I want to say that I have seen fae drake on this server in gfay... but again, memory is a funny thing, so I can't be sure.

Yup, welcome to classic.

Guineapig's right on all counts here.
