We can thank our lucky stars a Republican wasn't in office the last 4 years or we'd have American troops on the ground in Syria right now getting blown up by IED's, wasting billions of dollars, and accomplishing absolutely nothing while ISIS hides among civilians and waits until we withdraw.

No wonder Republicans admire Putin so much.

This all sounds great as long as you ignore the fact that Obama has drones that could have decimated any target in Syria before Russia took the reigns.

We have a few hundred, soon to be a few thousand, special ops acting surgically. With a Repub it'd have been a full blown occupation, like they've been demanding all along.

Yeah, and those are spec ops. It's not the redesigned humanitarian trained regular troops we have, these boots on the ground are there for war. You don't need a lot of these guys to take the war to the enemy, well trained, well armed, well supported for the task at hand. This isn't even counting our black-ops troops there, which if we have spec-ops there, we certainly have black-ops as well. You put 12 of these guys into any city with orders to disrupt etc, that city will be dust come 'mourn.
