yes asbestos is nasty and horrible, i didn't deny that, or downlplay the fact that your likely to die many years after exposure to just a small # of particles. just analyzing the stats from two articles and comparing them, both of which could be considered somewhat subjective or biased.

but rather then say what I just said, u got #mad
Yeah you pretty much did deny it when you said smoking is worse than asbestos. No one is mad here. I am used to correcting you at this point.

Get this, new study on pot smokin:

New Study Shows Marijuana Can Alter DNA, Create Mutations (short article)

"Through our research we found that cancers and illnesses were likely caused by cell mutations resulting from cannabis properties having a chemical interaction with a person's DNA," researcher Stuart Reece of the University of Western Australia said in a news release, the IBT Australia reports."

And they are saying that it can be passed onto your kids for generations. And not just from daily use, but even from limited use. So how's if feel to be a mutant? [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I wonder what type they were using, all this new stuff is friggen strong from what I hear. 20-30 years ago it was pretty weak (yes fist hand exp :P back then anyway), had to use a lot to get a real effect, it was mostly mild. Some say it's GMO weed now, but no proof provided... though that may be difficult to provide if done years ago in secret labs.

That entire article is garbage, it's a peer reviewed article done by psychiatrist on the mutation of DNA published in a shit rag

"Even if a mother has never used cannabis in her life, the mutations passed on by a father's sperm can cause serious and fatal illnesses in their children," he added. "The parents may not realize that they are carrying these mutations, which can lie dormant and may only affect generations down the track, which is the most alarming aspect."

yea I call bullshit. I think we would have noticed by now if the offspring of potheads have kids with fatal illnesses at a high rate.

Edit: Nielsen Online said Newsmax was the most trafficked conservative website with approximately 4 million unique visitors monthly.[9] A 2010 study released by Nielsen reported that Newsmax.com was the number one site for conservatives in the U.S., making it one of the most influential conservative news sites in the nation.[1]

Couldn't find info quick on Cathy Burke -- who wrote it. But Before I read an article about science, I always try to find out exactly who is writing it based on what study. Because the news has a huge habit of misleading people about science studies. My guess is Burke is a upper middle class women that went to a decent university for English, knows nothing about science, and has relentlessly conformist views on politics.

lol, the comment section on conservative sites:

"Once convicted of selling baby body parts, the gov't is planning to make up for lost revenue by adding marijuana dispensary services to its Planned Parenthood clinics and covered under Obozocare. The medical benefits far out weigh the side effects, contradictory science deniers and investigative journalists proving otherwise will be prosecuted."

"Suddenly all the dots connect. Now I understand Obama, Reid, Pelosi, Feinstein, Boehner and the RINO gang, Bloomberg, Schumer, and all the others who can't get anything right. They're all a bunch of self-induced mutations. "

Wat?
So you are saying you didn't even read it, eh? And if you had bothered, rather than just reading the GhettoBook log-in comments below the article, you would have found a link to http://www.ibtimes.com.au/australian...dna-alteration in the first full paragraph. You can also find the journal here: http://www.journals.elsevier.com/mut...of-mutagenesis

And there are more articles reporting on this subject which are less than two days old released information fresher than a supermarket doughnut. This is breaking news, still only just started circulating before mainstream media picks it up as they always do with pot studies.

Oh I see what you are saying, because it was published on a site you politically disagree with, you refuse to be bothered with this. Gee, maybe I should throw a tantrum every time someone posts an article by a site I disagree with (including myself quite often), then delete my NY Times links, CNN links, MSNBC links etc, because that shat needs to be stomped out (I at least looked into your slanted MTV garbage vid you posted recently on white privilege, just lol). Damn, brb, I need to uninstall windows because Bill Gates is evil... and that's an understatement, he's a friggen monster I can give 10 reasons why and you won't find that any MSNBC link. He thinks you're the problem and you should depopulate yourself if he doesn't first.

What, you expect me to spoon feed you the truth (or something truthish), is that what you are used to? I don't always post shit I agree with, that's a fact. In this case I don't know if it's accurate or not, but it has nothing to do with the fucking website I linked or the columnist that reported it lol. But if I post crap I'm not sure about, maybe some good discussion can come of it (even if only some lame jokes), or even relevant and informative links by other posters here with breaking news on this.

Article is click bait. The originating article is fear mongering.

Daywolf, have you found the exact, cited paper the original article is referring to? The paper linked in your previous post only indicates a study done on mice and not humans. Mice aren't humans.

I'm not a scientist. So I take precautions to avoid the possibility that one nutty guy that knows more about science than I do convinces me that some BS politically motivated hypothesis of theirs is true.

It's not really the same as watching Bill'O talk politics.

im guessing the study group on this was biased and the study wasnt duplicated.

so the real finding of the study is probably 4 out of 12 people had possible cell mutations from cannabis( even though they ingested tons of other shit while we did this test that may or may not be linked to cell mutation)

Here's another anecdotal statistic. More people probably die from colon cancer and obesity directly related to using sit down in stead of squatting toilets then people die from asbestos related mesothelioma.

Also, I'm pretty sure all the dumb kids with autism today speaking in absolutes and being retards on these boards are probably from the hippees and weed mutations plus agent orange.
