I'm not sweating the weight limit as much as I did on live years ago, but using Wu's allows you the option of having other items or weapons that are heavier. Of course, I'm not using weapons anyway at the moment. That is Classic! [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.][You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

This is part of the reason I added a few pieces of Wu's to my "starting out" monk set - for certain slots, there simply isn't a *really good* piece of armor available, so it's good to put a Wu's there which is slightly less effective, but frees weight up elsewhere.

I go with Lockjaw Tunic over foreman because I like the sta and extra AC. I've always been neurotic about AC...I have to have high AC. Even on my casters, especially my Wizard (because he gets hit more than other casters, except chanters).

So if you're overly concerned with AC, wouldn't you in turn be concerned about weight? I am using a Foreman's Tunic as well atm, but seeking to replace it with a Sythraak Hide, and eventually ROTLC.

I am concerned with AC as well, and am always destroying copper/silver because of this. Even if I am not tanking in the group, if it comes down to it, that extra AC could make the difference between life and death, and at this point in my career (27), I will most likely have to eat that death without a res.

Oh, i'm very concerned with weight. But I have a Necro main, so i'm not concerned with money either. (btw, i'm waiting till Kunark to make an Iksar monk, since I was a human monk on live).

My weight was nearly always just below or right at the threshhold for max AC, unless I was farming in an underleveled zone (in which case I didn't care). Until I got a few tinker bags, I would only hunt in places close enough to banks or close enough to vendors to make sure I only went over a single stone at most while fighting. This did mean I left a bunch of FS weapons or bronze armor rotting - but I was more concerned with leveling than making money at the time. Unfortunately, I didn't have a necro main on live, so I was really poor.

Eventually I got around to farming plat, and then I got all the other good stuff [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

EXP > Money. Mages/Necros/Chanters/many others don't have to make the choice - but Monks do.

IIRC, the AC on your armor represents mitigation, while the bonus you get represents your ability to not be hit at all. You visible AC value is a combination of these two numbers. The hit you take to your AC for weight is supposed to come off the second value. Of course I could be misremembering terribly after so many years.

You are playing a monk. Get used to it. If you wanted to be rich, be a caster and charge for buffs, healing, ports and rezzes. Wait until you want a tinkers bag. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
