Why do you need 2 weeks notice? Buy socks and Hot Pockets now...

Sorry to tell you this but I dont think it was until after Velious was launched that the penatly was ever removed for the hybrids, and I think at the same time they added a bigger group bonus per person.
Jan 14, 2001.

Roughly a month after Velious release. You are correct.

OH MY GOD, i think my whole world just turned upside down. i thought that i started just as Kunark came out, but I now think i may have started as Velius came out.. i know i'm being dramatic but that is kinda trippin me out lol i had always termed myself a 'pre kunark' dude. my whole life has been a lie [You must be logged in to view images. after goin back, it looks like you guys were right and it was Velius that abolished slavery.. i mean xp penalties.

either way, I am still a firm believer in not having xp penalties except where needed (iksar and troll for their regenerative abilities). In the end, it was a mistake that EQ Devs were sorry for making in the first place, and as a progressive group of intellectual thinkers, we should learn from their mistake... ??

did that work on anyone? didnt think so. TAKE OFF TEH GD XP PENALTIES!!!

I'm 100% with you, but it's been clearly stated by the HMFIC that it won't happen.

Ironically, I don't care so much because it would speed up my leveling, but because it sickens me to be in a group that turns away the shaman or Shadowknight because 'he'll kill our exp'.

Nevermind both are amazing classes that add enormously to the party.

I've been on both sides of that 'shunning' coin (as a shaman and a necro) and each one blows.

The shaman penalty may or may not exist, some people say they do because of the pet, some say no, because they aren't hybrid... either way public perception is enough in most cases.
Being a Troll made matters worse.

HMFIC= Head Mother Fucker In Charge.
military slang for the boss man.

No wisdom casters have penalties.

*DISCLAIMER*: I know that the devs are the final say and they can do as they damn well please. So when I give my opinion, I am not being an ass or trying to be one.

I, honestly, don't see why they would change the boat route in OOT (which isn't classic) saying they are fixing a mistake Verant had, YET they don't ditch the group penalty which Verant has admitted was a mistake.

I'm just not a fan of inconsistencies.

I agree. Also in my opinion going classic doesn't mean that EVERYTHING must be as the original version.

After all, I guess that all casters around agree on the fact that having to look at a book while medding was just stupid.

And not doing it is not taking away any classic feeling...
