As others have posted, I don't really think you'll find a decent solo camp that will give you exp and cash, it will be one or the other.

For xp side maybe animals in WW?

WW is bad because wyverns share the spawn table with animals. I liked seafuries from 56-57, I actually did a whole extra level to 58 with them being light blue / green. TT cycle is great at 58/59. Bear pits is the exp you'll find. And for a AFK camp, the brownie guards in Lfay are nice, 14 min spawns x 2. Can also kill trolls in neriak, but that's tough to chain kill and dangerous.

I was coming here to suggest brownie guards in LFay. I coulda sworn they were 6min respawns? Kinda fuzzy.

I will say they drop each time a brownie part, sometimes 2. And in between spawns can kill the lesser ones for brownie parts, even sell the junk to the merchants there with sneak. Are even 2 spiders that drop spiderling silk if you want to really stock up for tunnel.

I'd say you could easily sell brownie parts for 10p per in tunnel (stackable), can probably even do 15-20p. I never see them for sale, and is a big gap in the baking tradeskill to cover.

FYI the brownie guards are beasts if you don't dispell their DS. Harmony, then pull with dispell (their DS must be like 20-30hp per hit, it sucks). But then they easy mode after its gone.

Of course, downside is it could be camped, so a lot to invest to go there and have it be a bust!

Can a ranger, even at 60 with good gear, kill the actual frenzy in velk? These things are pretty tough for their level.
My 60 monk wouldn't be able to do it without some clickies. Even then it would be close.. and if frenzy had silver chitin hand wraps... I would probably get torn the fuck up.

Could you do mermaids in Kedge? I mostly soloed them through 58 on my paladin and made solid money at the same time. They share the gem drop table with seafuries.

It might be tough without a reliable way to interrupt or split them though. The mermaids are all either druids or rangers.

I was actually duoing brownie guards today on a 57 ranger (Swiftwind, no Earthcaller) with a 45 druid. We were after brownie parts.

The guards don't give faction hits, but the ones inside the walls do. You may find it worthwhile to kite them around a little after the pull to dispel DS. I found it generally took 3 cancel magics. They do a surprising amount of damage, but are really low hp.

Wolf form sets them to indifferent faction.

How well geared does one need to be to handle the Brownie Guards, do you think? I'd love to find a decent solo XP spot for my 55 Ranger but I am not incredibly well geared (first toon).

I honestly find exp in velks to not be so great, not bad, but slow due to the very high hit points on everything.

Because you're not killing the mobs fast enough or you're in too big of a group. Period

Exactly,. If you cant kill the mobs fast enough than the exp will be bad. Some may say that, that is the same advice for ANY zone,..

Velks has a good Zone EXP Modifier. But if you kill the mobs slow as fuck the exp per hour wont be good. If you can kill a ton of mobs fast, the exp per hour is excellent.
I've been in both situations... The ideal group in Velks is a optimal duo or trio. Not a 6 person group.

Sol B efreeti || Velks
58-60 you'll do it in no time flat.
