My in-brain maps are "wrong" in that they are by no means efficient; but I usually get where I intended to go. My best example is lesser faydark. I had NO IDEA it was so quick to run from SFM to GFAY until I saw a map on alla back in the day... /cry

The ocean zones - OOT / TD

I hate EQ boats with a passion so I never go to these zones unless I am required to. So I always have the map open on these zones If I do visit them because I'm not riding the boat a second time around because I missed something or was slightly off when running Levi over the ocean which has no Landmarks

I typically run by landmarks / memory, and have most zones pretty well memorized (unless I am looking for something specific like a spawn point or something) So running over huge oceans with no landmarks and just /loc spam is less than ideal to how I naturally "learned" all the other zones.

Ha! It's all in the toon you roll. Live/P99. Innothule/Feerrott/Neriak are literally second homes to me. The distant elf isle? Gotta map it every. single. time. Same with lighty lands in Kunark, ie FV

Ak'Anon is close - I mean in live they had clockwork guide robots didn't they? I've played a few gnomes though so for me it's Neriak. I always end up zoning back and forth between (i forget the names) neriak commons and FQ as I'm trying to get outside the city. For some reason I always miss the last turn around the gate and just start the loop again.

Innothule Swamp. I always mix up the UGuk and Feerott ZLs. Kelethin and GFay are a pain as well.

Kedge Keep is by far the worst zone to navigate without a map, IMHO! Also because it is a dangerous zone to get lost in!
