Was Choosing Mithaniel Marr a dumbass idea?

Individual items do not really matter that much. Having a character you enjoy the theme and look of is far more important.

I rolled a human ranger, because I like the idea of a wrathful, stormy temperament. It doesn't bother him that his deity doesn't hand out items of immense power; in his mind such magic hats are crutches needed by weak elves that sleep with their teddy bears at night.

Yeah, that was honestly why I did it. He seems like the big badass paladin god and that seemed cool to me. I also just think half-elves look hawt, and I like being a more uncommon Paladin race.

I'd like to think I'm gonna raid on him someday but I've heard Paladins need to be massively overgeared to tank anything, so I don't know.

I wish I could find an identity on a toon I could stick with.

My problem is, after a couple months of playing one, I start to think man, I wish I had made this other race/deity/class combo now... Then once this thought enters my cranium it sticks till I delete and make a new toon!

I hate myself for this.

I actually tried a half elf pally, of Tunare. But. Gotta be honest a nature pally seems weird to me. I love nature. I love pallies. But, a nature worshipping pally??? Weird.

Also got to admit, a part of my min/max side came out too, and when I seen the lack of wisdom on the half elf it just ate at me I couldn't do it.

Left me with either human, dwarf, or high elf. High elfs look odd in plate to me. Humans bore me. Left me with one choice - dorf. Plus I like the small size.

Consider this, bad stats give you more room to advance your character as you wish... at high levels the 'better' races will easily cap with buffs, making gear decisions much more boring.

my rogue got extremely boring when i realized "upgrades" were extremely pointless for him. stopped playing him because of it.

The upside of the Mar cultural armor is, far less people have ever seen it on P99.

It doesn't matter what you do in this game anymore, it only still matters how you look when you do it.

I'll never forget the first half elf paladin I ever saw, with a Soulfire killing the Griffon in EC by himself, in full fine steel plate armor.... It was a thing of glory!

Style is everything.
