Excellent point Rasah. The thing is, I usually play a healer or nuker (have both in WoW and have played a cleric in the past)

It wasn't the cleric class that had issues...that was actually fine and I never got it high enough to be picky about that. It was all the other "stuff" that I would have seen with a wizard anyway. I rolled a cleric because my buddy Jim rolled a mage and we figured when we grouped we could use his pet to tank and I could heal and help with nuking.

But anyway, the stuff I didn't care for was things like the global chats, the changes to core mechanics (I'm sorry, but regen was much higher than Classic, even with the supposed removal of super fast OOC regen) and the "improved" new zones.

Also, while they tried to make the boats work, apparently they still malfunction and do things like path right through the middle of the island in Erud's Crossing.

There is one thing I like on Progression over P99. I have always played a mage and on Progression your pet zones with you. I know that is not classic, but I sure hate recasting a pet everytime I zone (especially when you zone accidentally).

Other than that, I prefer P99. However, the pet zoning thing is such a big thing for me personally that I will continue playing around on Progression for a little while and will be back here for Kunark.

I wonder if Sony saw that coming?
I'm sure they did. It happened with the last progression server.

I only got into p1999 because of hearing about Fippy. I hopped on there, but it was not close enough to classic to excite me. You spawn with your items after death. You can simply outrun monsters without SoW or anything. The group xp bonus is way too huge. No Hell levels. Focus effects. Overpowered pet classes and monks. Overpowered spells. There just wasn't any semblance of balance or fear in the world.

I've been far more pleased with the population and people on p1999 compared to Fippy. I didn't re-subscribe after the free week and don't ever plan on it. P1999 is just what I was looking for!

honestly you could roll a freakin ranger and just sit down if your duoing with a mage :P and if you were tryna make a real efficient duo w a mage i would a think sham or enc would be dope combo

How can you stay stick to Warcraft's community when you get to know about the P1999 one?

I feel similarly. I really loathe re-summoning the dog all the time, because it still takes way too much of my mana and I'm lazy. All that clicking must be a meaningful challenge though...

However, I have to say that I can't stand the elemental models on the Progression server: 1) the old model water elemental is transparent and/or it's distance from the camera is wrong in lots of buggy and lame ways and 2) the new models don't even hold their weapons right. They've been in the game for something like seven years now, so you'd think they'd get that worked out, but no.

The presence of new model skeletons, beetles, wolves, and snakes in the new Nektulos, all poorly animated, made it not really Nektulos anymore, and in general not classic enough to really excite me.
