I recalled seeing this bug on a friends PC back in 1999 and wondered what was up with it. The guy had issues with Neriak rendering the neon glyphs on the wall correctly and yeah, he was able to see a model for the Enchanter animation pet as seen above.
The card he used was the old Creative Labs 3D Banshee card using the stock driver. In an update that was issued a couple of weeks later, the new driver removed the bugs. http://www.cmcusa.com/htm/product/ha...l/bansheeo.htm | ||

Don't ask me how, but I happened across this photo and remembered this thread. This must be what it was like? It looks like the body is also slightly displayed and the head further yet.

Found a whole series on this, devs should give a 1% chance for animations to look like this to anyone in zone (apparently some see but others can't).

I played EQ once on my shitty laptop back in late 99/early '00 and the graphics chip overheated one night I'm assuming. Everything went from its usual texture to randomly being covered in multicolored dots. My enchanter animation was no exception, the shield/sword had a multicolored man made of dots running around between them. It was strange.
