Maybe you were an unintentional casualty of the purge. Once you have another name picked, petition and ask them to change it back. If they reject that, settle for the lesser name.

You are probably right, justice wont be served right then and there. But a guide will put a pin in the name and add it to the pile for a GM to take care of later.
