Blind will make them attack anyone in melee range over anyone not in melee range, not the *closest* player. Ask any paladin who uses this for aggro when rogues hump their leg from closer proximity. WESS is the best aggro weapon in the game because it rolls a debuff, the blind, and multiple poison counters (each component with additive stacking aggro) all into one. WESS doesn't have a great ratio (not terrible, but definitely not good). It's the strength of the proc that makes it the strongest aggro weapon in the game. *Strongest* does not necessarily mean most ideal. Quote:

![]() Can definitely remember a time in City of Mist when my WESS proc'd and caused the golem to go off on an adventure. He met tons of friends, introduced me to them. They were dicks.

![]() WESS has a big aggro proc that's for sure, but aggro is just about keeping more aggro than the next guy and you don't need the obscene amounts of threat you get with a WESS when better ratios will also do the trick.
Edit-That being said, I do use my WESS in situations where I absolutely need to keep aggro such as queen bee in plane of sky or other raid type encounters. Even then I switch to Dagas after a single proc though.
