The worst feeling I ever had on p99 is when I bought a suit of that dark elf chainmail. Ya know that racial stuff, chainmail look on casters and stuff?

When I put it all on it was dark fucking blue, almost black and looked horrible.

Took me like a week to resell and break even.

What awkward stories do you have about sending an old friend a "hello" only to be greeted by a rando playing their character?

I don't consider this "awkward" so much as ordinary for P1999. Folks are generally pretty open about letting me know that soandso quit and donated his account(s) to his guild, or whatnot. Just found out about another one this past week, in fact.

There was one amusing case of a player who had quit quite a few years ago, and in the meantime the account's been passed around to god knows how much of the server...even I had its info at one point. Years later, the (supposedly) original guy logs back on and swears up and down only he ever had access to it. Told him I hoped he had changed his info.
