Since you like melee, but are concerned with a lack of fungi, I think you should play melee, and screw the fungi. Its not like the item is required to play. It's sort of a ridiculous item that shouldn't have existed but its classic so its here. It essentially makes you nearly immortal for two thirds of the game. How fun.

Cen is probably right here. You could always go iksar so that you have some built in regen!

Iksar regen is only useful at 55+

Would be cool if the benefits started way earlier though

It would make being KOS worth it

I would say Monk. I solod with wus gear and hp rings all the way to 50. After that you have to get fairly well geared to continue solo.

iksar monk the way to go imo. Although regen doesn't really ramp up to 50+ they do have extra regen at early levels too.

Can Troll or Iksar SK. You can absolutely solo although it's far from ideal.

get this for your level 12 wizard http://wiki.project1999.com/Solist%27s_Icy_Wand
it is very good for level 12-24 or so, and as others have said, a very laid back soloer, independant and unwanted anyway ^^

It was at this point I decided to no longer be kind to the casuals as they have extreme short term memory. They did this to themselves, unfortunately.
