Also as far as the Skullcaps themselves go. I've got the 5th rank Occultist Skullcap which gives AC: 6 and INT: +3. I can see doing the 6th since I've already done the faction work and have half the candlestick (if the other half ever drops), but without the 9th skullcap as a goal I can't see bothering with the rest of them. The looks don't change and the increase in stats is minimal. It's just not worth the huge effort involved.

Zakaton, don't feel too sad. You still have the most powerful necro race for your necromancer (assuming you are doing this on an iksar - if you actually factioned a non-iksar to do this quest then I do feel for you).

Had this scenario been a new skullcap that was added to a worse necro race (perhaps human?) and you forewent choosing Iksar in favor of Human just for an item then I would sympathize with you, but I really can't when Iksar is by far the best.

After looking at all of the iksar progressive quests it looks like the Monk and Shadowknight ones are worth doing and the rest aren't. And it appears that the live devs tried to fix this a few expansions later by adding in an additional quest for warriors necros and shamans to give them a semi epic, like the Nature's Defender for High Elf/Half Elf paladins.

All I can say is research, research, research.

Has the foot of candlestick actually dropped for anyone? I haven't found someone with it yet...

Not that I know of. I've heard of someone killing 100+ Revenants without the foot dropping. As far as I know everyone doing the quests is stuck there.

I honestly hope you didn't believe the 9th skullcap would ever be in-game? That thing is so overpowered it's not even funny.

Does anyone have any idea how much factioning is required to get Keeper Rott to talk to you? I've done the 5th skullcap with no problems but Rott won't let me do the 6th or the Keeper Rott's pages until I prove myself some more.
