Runnyeye is by no means a ghost town. I see a couple groups on the upper level from time to time. But it's still pretty rare to see a group down in the higher level content sucking up that juicy exp bonus.
Well that's disappointing! The zone is much closer to a good-aligned bank than Cazic-Thule Temple, and not too far from another popular spot that is overcamped (Highkeep), so with that exp modifier the zone really deserves to have lots of groups in it. What about Permafrost and Kedge?

The only ZEM change I didn’t agree with was significantly reducing Befallen because I always thought dungeons where you could be screwed if you died behind locked doors should have high ZEM
Yeah, Befallen is much more difficult than a place like Crushbone, especially for forming and maintaining groups. It deserves a significantly higher ZEM.

I'm gonna let you finish, but GUK has some of the best loot, hands down!

That may be, but it's apparently not good enough to encourage many people to go there anymore.

Another factor about guk was the high pop early on for manastone & guise. People would go there for legacy camps but not exp camps. Now that those camps are gone, Other items camps are still camped but the zone population is even lower.

Thing with EQ is you don’t technically need a lot of gear/loot for many classes in order to be effective in a group. So you can go to the high ZEM zones and get some exp and then just come back for gear much later on.

Although I believe perma has some good drops for a number of different classes so it’s not like Guk is the only dungeon with loot

Apparently it's not all about the exp. Ppl still avoid Kedge like the plauge.

The entire premise of it being a zone where folk come to destroy pussy feels like a rather distasteful joke. Its up there with Pain Eel and The Hole. Just an incredibly cringe continent.

Its not perfect, but it opened up the game and let people (some veterans) actually learn a couple very cool zones...which is part of the classic experience imo.

I really hope they do this in Kunark too...there are so many super well designed kunark dungeons that nobody really uses much. rotate some of those through a ZEM and give the min/maxers a reason to get off the beaten path they have run down so many times.

Over all, not perfect but I definitely think it improved things.

Kedge is just a niche zone...but you can find an occasional exp grp there off the beaten path...certainly lots trying to solo there (at least more than just the named hit man solo'ers who typically own the zone).

You're right though...Kedge is still off the beaten path with the changes. Still nice bonus for folks who like to play there.
