As for my guild, I've tried getting them to raid Hate on quakes or three days after: they're against it. All they'll do is let individual members track and batphoning when a named spawns ... but after doing that for nearly a year and having no luck, I was basically told by my guild leader to just buy the staff. So, I went that route.

You're acting like it's a secret that many guilds (not just mine) don't prioritize Hate.

And yes, I am bitching and moaning, because this is supposed to be a classic EQ server, but most hate staffs go to soloing Enchanters who sell them. There's nothing classic about that. It's like bitching and moaning about combat bind wounds, or Bards monopolizing zones by swarm kiting 200 mobs: it goes against the whole idea of recreating the game from 1999-2001.

20+ years of "thinking about content" and finding new ways to get things done isn't classic either. Unfortunately you can't undo what's been found to be possible.

The best thing to do (maybe the only thing) if you don't like the culture/behavior on the server is to give another EQ home a go. I know a lot of people who left for TAKP already.

Who are the active solo enchanters selling hate staffs? :s

There are a few, but one dominates; he posted in this thread on the previous page. I have no beef with him though: he's actually a nice guy, and that'd be like taking issue with Warriors who use Bind Wounds in combat.

Also I'm not really "bitching" either (I was just parroting Ripqozko) ... I'm advocating for classic EQ. There have been multiple bugs filed that would make charming less safe, like it was on live (eg. Channeling Fix). Plus, I filed a bug Remove the Hate Safe Spot, which would be a simple fix that immediately restores classic raiding to Hate.

Ultimately, what it boils down to is that right now Enchanters and the Plane of Hate on P99 are both:

Nerf enchanters and someone finds out how to do it with 3 people... Loramin is under the assumption that if you nerf enchanters that the server will go back to 1999.

Obviously it won't, but it would make the server closer to classic. In classic Enchanters were an essential part of groups; here you can rarely find one LFG and ... [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] groups are far less prevalent.

Again, it won't magically bring the server back to '99-'01, but if Enchanters were motivated to group again, it would certainly bring it a lot closer (not to mention the fact that it would free up a ton of high-end camps for groups, or at least duos/trios).
