eagles might have low hp but with wizard riders they are like reaper drones

ive also wondered about aragorn's ghost buddies

they were so ridiculously powerful, taking out whole fields of enemies and wisping thru warships of soldiers, like just 1 ghost could have fought basically everyone.

couldn't aragorn have mentioned them earlier at the ring council?

That said. Combining ghost plus eagles and making a treetop flyer beeline for the mnt. Would have probably worked fine. Especially seeing as the ghosts levitate.

also the films are masterpieces. absolutely incredible filmmaking. if you're into film production at all, the special features/behind-the-scenes making of the films are awards-worthy too

The real plot hole is not how to return the ring. It is the idea of returning the ring:the ring that will grant Sauron’s will to dominate and abilities to name great curses to those in possession of it.

Geography has it’s own sentience in Middle Earth. Mountains are malevolent, forests are perfidious.

Mount Doom must surely be worst of all. A mountain whose roots creep deep and can reach into the fiery and shadowy underworlds (in which many terrible horrors reside).

So casting the ring into mount doom will not destroy it. No. It will provide that volcano with Sauron’s power. And an army of horrors older than time, with a reach across all of Middle Earth.

Tolkien was good pals with C.S. Lewis (Narnia and shit), and he was weaving some religion based stuff in there. Wouldn't surprise me if Tolkien intentionally was getting it in but being more subtle.
