Could you imagine how few warriors there would be if knight classes gained exp at the same rate as them?

The funny thing is the xp penalties are pretty much the complete opposite of what they should be.

In some regards, however as a warrior I can understand why I would need the extra EXP gain, though I'm really not a fan of gimping classes [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I'm leveling up with the 40% experience penalty and to be honest I simply avoid thinking about it.

If you're focusing on how much MORE experience you may be making then I suppose it could be frustrating. But just chill, enjoy the game, enjoy your leveling. If its such a big deal for you then you may need to play another class. But the easiest thing to just accept the fact that leveling in Everquest takes time, alot of time, and its going to take you just alittle bit more to reach 50.

Ok going to go over this again, This thread comes up every few days/week and someone new thinks it should be changed. The exp penalties are from D&D, it was nothing about sticking it to people who played hybrids or some cruel joke. It's a basic D&D rule that when you make a hybrid, let's use Pally as an example. I actually made a pally in like 1994 on a D&D AOL online game, I had a HUGE penalty because my pally could tank pretty much as good as a warrior but also had the ability to heal and Lay Hands. It's like DUEL CLASSING, you don't get to be treated equally if you make someone who has two classes combined.

It's just part of D&D history, remember a lot of things from this game came from D&D and if you have a problem with the xp penalty go play another class and stop complaining. I made a halfling druid as my first char because I knew I could solo and lvl up quickly, if you choose a pal/sk/bard or whatever, you know about the exp penalty, you could easily make a warrior or enc and lvl up faster if that's the issue.

Kaylen has the right attitude, if you want to level up a pally or whatever, don't think about it.

I could swallow the whole "it's classic" thing if that was 100% always adhered to for all cases, good and bad.

It's not. That's why it's sickening to some people.

We also don't need a new thread on it constantly, either. They aren't going to get rid of it. Give it up.

Warriors are very, very weak in classic. Except for raid tanking.

Knights are more desirable in exp groups and can solo (warriors can't in classic).

Maybe during Kunark/Velious it should be removed (warriors get a lot stronger and their dps advantage over knights widens).
