I want your opinion: what is the most fun class 1-60?

I found shaman to be most fun, I could tank, I could heal, I could solo, and gearing it is as fun as gearing a tank and a caster at the same time.

Enchanter I basically play with gear attainable in my 20s, all the way to 60. And I don't even want to think about getting another one an epic, that was literally not fun.

While shaman, you feel the upgrade with every item, because you're stacking things like HP and Mana...

On top of that you're looking for cool lookin gear like a melee would.

I also think ranger is fun to level and gear, because it has a lot of attainable but highly beneficial gear. Both the ranger's and the shaman's epic are something you can do for "fun" with only a couple bottle necks that are only potentially frustrating.

There is something just really fun about being a group asset, and a raid boss that can solo big baddies at the same time.

Also getting a clicky bracer and shooting monsters with cyberdine lazer arms as a shaman feels so bad-a and fun.

The issue with the enchanter tool kit isn't that its over stacked. Its that resists in P99 are nothing like they were in classic EQ. Once they overhaul the resist code and resists rates go way up enchanters will be much less of a meta than they are today, back to being just a support class. Or at the very least an extremely high risk to obtain their high rewards.

The resist tweak will apparently be gradual and 50+ so we'll see but I don't think it will make them that much worse except for the high end solos.

I think they're super fun because when you push the enveloppe you always have death's scythe caressing your neck and you're one bad call away from dying. Makes it even more satisfying when you succeed. But if you don't like dying you can get 60 doing frenzy or whatever low risk camp. I started the solo artist challenges and I'm having a blast even though I could be getting better exp/money elsewhere.

But yeah, if there's a new server I think I'm making a druid first for the reasons you outlined. Probably iksar necro next. I'm bard curious but I don't know enough about them to make one as a first toon.

Shamans are nice too because you can either solo well or be a great group addition.

Of the classes available on p99, I've only *not* rolled warrior and shaman. Every other class, I have leveled to at least 40+, most into mid-50s.

From all of those, I'd say the most fun for me personally has been Enchanter. Necro and Ranger were both a lot of fun, too, and I'd place them tied for 2nd.

Rangers are a fun dkp dump / twink class. Swarmcaller / Epics / sky cloak do a lot to fix them through the late 40s and 50s! Even without those, they are a lark!

Necromancer is alright, it does feel a bit more serious than fun though. I remember playing my necro on the Euro server in OOW era... It was able to kill multiple red/yellow murkgliders in noble's causeway - my warrior which was higher level would struggle to kill single light blue ones!

Magician was the most fun in 1999 to me. Get to command a powerful pet around while doing big damage spells.

Necro is even more fun overall, after you realize that being "evil" alignment doesn't really matter.

Enchanter is very fun too but the same option of laziness isn't there.

I like so many. Mages are super fun for non dungeon crawling.

Ranger fun same way cruising the nice outdoors

Druid fun overall kinda best

Necro fun if you dont need to hang out in happy cities

Shaman fun like druid and in some ways better some ways worse

Monk full naked in vanilla is awesome.

I'd say Shaman because they have more itemization that matters, while still being a powerhouse caster. This makes it more fun to acquire items as you level. Things like Fungi Tunic, Fungi Staff, JBB, etc.

Classes like Shaman and Enchanter aren't very fun for the first 12 levels or so, but they start to pick up steam afterwards.

Necro is a good pick too, since they get Lifetap and a Pet at level 1. You're already in the Necro mindset right out of the gate, and you get Snare/Fear at level 4.
