that with all the non-classic changes around no one on the dev team thought about redesigning lodizal at all?
>vast gigahuge ocean to work with
>random spawn spots
>never leaves the water/sea floor and will regen instantly on being pulled out
>lodizal will damage your oxygen bar
The thing is, the current Lodi (where everyone sits at his spawn point and races to agro him) is already incredibly unclassic. Back in 2000-2001 I don't think most folks even knew where his spawn point was.

In the same vein as Pyjin or Quillmane, I think the server overall would be more classic with a random spawn point.

Just make it a ridiculous system, and change some part of the ridiculous system the second anyone posts a "Guide to Spawning ________" that has figured it out.

I do not get the concept of a "bottleneck." I'm not traffic, and I'm not a crafter of fine bottles.

im not an expert on this, but lodizal being camped and killed instantly on spawn also wasnt classic. at least on my server. i remember wearing his shield as my cloak after winning a /random with a pug group who decided to just TRY to kill him with the random people in the zone at the time.

I also remember Gorenaire always being up. Venril Sathir and Trakanon almost always being up (and reading about how people on other servers had actually killed them and being shocked since I witnessed multiple VS trains to the zoneline and remember not being able to camp certain areas of Sebilis because trak is up etc).

I remember faydedar ALWAYS being up. To this day I'm always terrified runing to firepots because of bad experiences with faydedar (I didnt know firepots existed back then, but I was a dumb kid who could somehow manage to get lost in the ocean and die and get corpse camped by faydedar anyways).

I also remember Woushi always being up and it being a huge obstacle for people who were trying to run to Kael or Plane of Growth. Remember being a part of a PUG who killed him once. I was rogue and knew I was top damage, so I dropped my group right before he died (most people were dead by this point anyways), so I could check loot. I larped I didnt know how I got disbanded, and then ninja looted the crescent blades of luclin, and pretended it didnt drop [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I call BS on this one. Classic faydedar always fought the iksar master on his path (who was a beast and kill him), so fay would not be up long periods. You are probably thinking of spawned fay. Whenever our guild did the true fay a druid was camping zone and had to kite him until we could assemble which took forever

Not doubting your other memories as I remember trak aggro through certain areas and getting poisoned while in pugs. Although VS was on rotation for our server. If your guild wiped too many times went to next on the list, he dropped one way or the other.

Those mobs being up often was likely a reflection of active progression, new expansions dropping meant that people weren't as focused on the prior ones

People that wanted to kill raid mobs were in the new expansion, people that didn't were the ones in the old zones.

Over time there would become enough to go around that entire guilds would form to raid the old content to enjoy the raiding experience without being trampled by the hardcore guild on that server. My server even went to an open raid format for Naggy/Vox so anyone from any guild or non-guild affiliated could bring a 52 character and slay the original dragons.

Do you have a bug report for this?
