As someone brand new to EQ (ignore my join date, I never played after signing up and still regret it! I started a few months ago and have loved it), I would love to experience the original timeline. While the current servers do a good job of letting me see what it was like, they are very obviously quite "top heavy". Low level partying often have twinked alts in them, which is obviously fine but not truly indicative of how low level partying might be! A lot of gear/content also feels outdated by the natural power creep of Kunark -> Velious too. Experiencing them in their prime would be a fantastic adventure for someone like me that I hope to experience once in my lifetime.

Same, I wish I was here for a new server launch and hope to get the opportunity some time in the future. As bleak as it may look, they're still slowly working on changes to the timeline that could only be implemented on a fresh progression server.

I had to mostly involutary solo my way to 60 as a wizard on live and I met plenty of monk/shaman/mage/druid/necro soloers too. Let's not pretend this version of the game is wildly different outside of like chardok and maybe velks, I made monk/shaman alts back then because they were well known solo power houses. If anything I found p99 groups much less cutthroat in general on who they invite even though we're more aware some classes are suboptimal. Back then if I wanted to group as a wiz I had to start an AE group and that option was taken from us on here. Fucking not classic. If they're going to nerf lull and channelling they might as well kill the 25 mobs limit and enforce the fucking pnp policy like they always should have. | |||
