200-300 players at prime? I think you're grasping at straws. 200-300 at prime means 50-150 non-prime. Guess how many contested spawns have spawntime variance? Your hypothetical competition is going to exist only on small camps if at all. Even then, are you really so exited over this?
Like I said above I'm pretty sure you're being delusional. The game isn't built for PvP. You can argue balance until you're blue in the face but the engine just isn't built for it. I'm sure there's niche players like yourself who enjoy it, and that's great...you're just a minority. If you're so competitive why not play something relevant? Are you planning on running around town shouting that you pwned someone in an emulation of a 12 year old game?

Tell "this game isn't meant for PVP" to the 10,000+ players that enjoyed it on EQLive over the years. You're acting as if this hasn't been done before and succeeded.
Stating that you are mad is probably fairly accurate, because tbh, you sound more than a little spiteful towards the idea of EQ PVP in general. If you're not even going to be playing on P99 any more - what the fuck does it matter to you if Red99 is released? Why give your 2 cents when you have no intentions of playing on either server?
The shitty VZTZ server pulled over 100 players on prime time. You're making baseless claims about a ghost town population on what is being hyped as the best PVP server since live, which will be even better if they can get a handle on MQ2/SEQ detection again before release.
There will be no competition for raid targets? Really? Rofl. You can tell that to the VZTZ crew as well. They had it with just their community alone, and Red99 is sure to encompass P99 players and many others as well from places like FoH etc. I don't think you have an accurate understanding of what sort of population vanilla EQ needs to be successful. Prior to Kunark releasing on P99, the population was usually around 300-400 on average, and I can assure you, guilds were still fighting over spawns all the time. Then Kunark landed, the server hit 1000 players for a short time, and you literally had to fight for spawns in all of the popular zones. And that was with a whole other expansion added.
So again, I ask, why you so mad at red?
