Not a fan for Death metal or real hard metal in general. No musical skill involved simple double bass drums with the same git riff everytime..
Tool on the other hand is a different story.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s57Ft...eature=related Eulogy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zw3FT...eature=related Live (sober) I'm also a big fan of underground rap, main stream rap sucks !! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=250nGcnX1b8 GZA 4th chamber http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kqFA_...eature=related Bcc fab 5 Leflaur Leflah Eshkoshka

Or Stratovarius - Holy Solos Or As I Lay Dying - The Sound of Truth Or Inferi - The Warrior's Infinite Opus Or Insomnium - Mortal Share All of these songs take an incredible amount of skill to write, play and produce. Blanket statements like that come from the same people who say "Well Rap and HipHop are just talking into a mic". I don't even like rap and I know its so much more than that.

Sonata Arctica >> Dragonforce
Saw them both at a show earlier this year, Sonata killed them. They had a sweet Keytar duel b/w Henrik Klingenberg and Vadim Pruzhanov

Listen to a Cephalic Carnage album, like Lucid Interval or Anomalies and tell me they are doing simple stuff. John Merryman would be amazing even if you took away his kick drums all together. Then again, we are sharing opinions so who's to say I'm right. But still, there is an awful lot of math out there that blows my mind on a regular basis and it's not the speeds at which they are playing.
