Question about haste stacking.

This thread got me to go look at the buff slot #s for different haste spells/songs/clickies on the wiki and on allakhazam. Enchanter haste is slot 1, jonthan's whistling warsong (bard song, the clicky on ROTLC) is slot 2 (but all other bard hastes are slot 1). The haste on the epic is slot 5. The wiki and zam don't disagree with each other on any of this.

With other buffs, like strength or a resist, if that slot number is different, the effects stack. But not with haste?

Is the wiki/zam wrong about what slot these different haste effects are in, or is there some extra mechanic in there that stops haste from stacking when other effects in the same slots would stack?

Yes, haste has special stacking rules. Robe song and fists spell mostly stack, in that you get all the stats from both, but only the higher haste from fists.

Why is this being considered "spell haste" aka haste cast by others? This is clearly a bard song effect and should be going into the short duration buffs window, allowing it to not be overwritten by a casters haste spell. This should be stacking haste effects, should it not ?

Does the celestial fist count as spell haste like the robe?

Yes dreads it is spell haste.

Lanuven you are referring to bards giving overhaste which came out in luclin iirc so even tho the effect is a bard song it will not stack with any other spell haste on p99.

However, I support making monk epic 40% overhaste Lolol that'll teach the freebringer rogues.
I support this decision if necros are allowed to stack their various pet haste buffs.

Rather pet haste stacking than dot stacking? Pet haste stacking means 25% exp on every kill, whereas dot stacking means you could PE like 5 mobs, splurt + 3x blood line dot them all and regen mana.

Come on Szeth, you know me better than that. I would just factor this into my various solo models and compensate accordingly, to assure that I still did over 50% damage. The pet would simply do his 40% damage or so that much quicker!

Edit: Necros wanting dot stacking was a given I thought? Same goes for Shaman / Druids etc.
