Alright so gnomishfirework is the one who convinced me, but at least thread is just like server opinion, it's either STA or DEX. So here is how I counted everything stat wise to help me choose race. I went on P99 wiki and calculated all the stats from cobalt and other suggested pieces from kunark for a warrior. Now this might be wrong as idk if cobalt is the best for warr, guessing that it is highest AC just doesn't give much stats and there might also be better ear/ring/belt/back/shoulders set. But right now adding epics and buffs gave me a total of Dex 166, Str 164 and Sta 115. Now that gives me a char that would need to start with Dex 89, Str 91, Sta 140 to reach that magical number 255 in the end. Is there anyway to get the stamina number higher? because right now the only choices open are pretty much dwf that will still come short on Sta, even ogre/troll come close to it but won't come up with that amount of Stamina if I take care of Dex too. Now warrior doesn't seem to be the most popular of all but those 3 races are the most common ones within that minority, I'd like to try something out of the ordinary without having to much consequences in the end. Thinking about gnome, for some reason in 10 years of playing many different chars, I don't think I have ever seen one... and also I just checked on wiki it says avatar only gives +100 ATK and on ZAM it says +100 to Str/Dex/Agi/Atk. This might mess up my calculation but bleh. I'm guessing ZAM is right but I want your opinion again [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

It's not as if you're gonna have avatar on at all times unless you get a primal weapon, and you probably won't unless you're among the top raiders. That's easily a year away anyway, so that's a bit long-term to plan for already. I wouldn't take avatar into consideration.
Dex helps your proc rate, but it's so little that you probably won't be able to tell the difference unless you parse hours upon hours of grinding and look at the data. It's an invisible difference. Several hundred hp is a very visible difference, and I'd consider it much more important than what will probably amount to 0.05% higher proc chance. Ever since the devs nerfed proc rates last year, it has been pretty insignificant. If you're as concerned about stats and mechanics as you seem, you really have to realize that ogre is the best choice in that regard. It's also the only warrior race that retains a useful innate ability once everything else is capped out, which you will in the end if you raid. In Velious gear and raid buffs, your dex will be capped as well and all the races will be equal except ogres are immune to bash and iksar have 42 more AC. You can pick any race and do just fine, but if you want the mathematically best character, it's ogre (or iksar if you only care about the very end result). The stamina will serve you well until it's capped, and by then you'll be fine in the dex department and you won't lose swing time to constant bashstun. If you want to disregard all that, you can play whatever you like and it won't make you incapable of doing whatever it is you want to do, just a little less solid.

I take pretty much everything into consideration just to make a clear choice. I might end up with the Ogre/troll/dwf mix but first I want to cover bases.
Thanks for more info again, if procs were nerfed than that does change something thought.

Str and Dex are the most important to me. I play a barbarian and I'm still trying to get my str high enough to max out with shammy buffs. My dex is also pretty low so I'm trying to upgrade that stat attribute as well. If I am left in a berserker frenzy I do pretty well in the dps dept. if I have the right kind of buffs, but I also do ok in general if my health is staying topped off. Right now I think much of the talk about whats better to invest in doesn't really matter a whole lot. In the end game you will know what items are upgrades for you and what stuff to shoot for. You'll always want to aim to get your AC higher, as well as your main stat line attributes (str, dex, and sta). It's probably nice to have the highest HP or AC warrior on the server, but you can also have fun with other unique avenues you may decide to take your warrior down and the truth is you'll probably still be able to tank those tough bosses as long as you invest the time to get good and geared.

Another thing to think about is Large races, IE, Ogre, Troll are a turd indoors. Unrest is one zone that comes to mind. Ant's Legs work but are 250 Plat a stack. That adds up. And Shrink only works in indoors zones, so not in Unrest. And for some reason I am seeing less and less Shamans lately.
I had a Gnome Warrior on here that I deleted at like level 14. It was too hard to see to pull with a bow, or see around other players in the group. It was a tough little Bastard though. I am a very big believer in having AC, AC, AC on a Tank. I played a Cleric for years on Torvo and I know what AC does to make a healers life better.. But the small races suck with the low starting strength to be able to wear plate and carry 6 different weapons on them and bandages by the bags full, etc. The Ogre Stun Resist is a nice thing to have, so they are almost always the Tank in raids. But the odds of anyone ever being the main tank on a Raid is just about zilch shit. There is usually only one main tank per guild so good luck getting that unless your best friend is the Guild Leader.
