Nilbog said in another thread that Kael was almost done. And that it was the most complex zone in Velious. So I think he is further along than we think.

Kael and tower of frozen shadow being worked on... that's 2 out of 18? Wouldn't be expecting velious out anytime soon.

You could always work on it and release your own server.

I'm sure it would be a "smashing success"

Velious has been worked on more than just kael and TOFS, retard.

To my understanding Velious was generally untouched throughout all the expansions. So all content and most of the quest should be intact. Removal of alot of feeble bosses. Scripting some of the pathing/ring quest and redoing some of dragons lvl and stats should have it completed fairly quickly as oppose to Kunark where every zone was pretty much revamped, content added.

Since Kael was generally the biggest area to look into and he said was 99% complete, the other zones should be completed in 1/10 the time required. I think he probably would need to script Vulak to call for help and pathing correctly and modify some of the Sleepers Mobs and the expansion would be complete for beta. IMO, estimate around 3-6 months for start beta...

I had a friend code velious for another server and it only took him around 3 months. I think velious is coming a lot sooner then ppl expect, at least, I hope so [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

He most likely is the only one working on it, every other developer quit sure to the constant stream of tears. If they are just now coding kael expect a halfway finished velious around 2013 . Hopefully I don't get banned for this post!
Zones are developed without me asking any questions. Unfortunately, the more I choose to interact and bring the community into these situations, the more negativity is produced. Too bad eh.

I thought it would be a good idea to show people some of the things we spend time researching and allow them to help. I will continue to ask questions if and when I have them, and you can think whatever you want.

Yep. I'd put Kael at #2 on the most difficult Velious zones in terms of development. I think Skyshrine is the most difficult with Thurgadin being very easy in comparison.

p.s./additional information: Find ways to help. Have a unique situation you remember from Velious? Start a thread about it.

kanras is a content developer. He does excellent work. He has, and continues to do Velious development. I am not doing it alone.

I just wonder how hard the Ring War is to code.
Its really not to bad just time consuming there is tons of info on the web and its mostly //// out sql commands and a few edits and npc checks.

Id say about 80-85% of both the ring and the shawl is rdy at eqemu base. It took me and one other about 6-8 hrs (not constant-cooking, errands etc) to get both of them up to speed...other than the war.
