HT and LoH
LoH and HT has saved groups from certain wipes countless times. I played a warrior for a while, and after a dreadful death to the Cleric while deep in MM, we all wiped shortly there after...
A high level Paladin friend came and helped with the CR. He poked fun at me by saying that "Had we used a paladin instead of a warrior, we would have survived that fight"... sadly it was true.... Since playing my pally here on p99, I have intervened against death several times thanks to LoH, and have even been able to backup heal and saves others from death in sticky situations..... just my 2 cents on it... but ill gladly take a slight xp penalty for the benefits of LoH!!!

It depends on the player/gear. A good player playing a ranger will show you that they aren't that bad to play with. The whole snap agro thing is dumb, there is a spell called "root" root and get the right spot you will be the tank no matter what, myself and a shaman duo'd solb and the xp was extremely fast, if I remember correctly when with a 40% penalty I got a bub an hour. This was before kunark also, so my weapons weren't even what they could be now.
