if sony really does open a classic server the only way I would join is if it was truely classic and followed the same time line as here, there would have to be a huge community, lots of gm support and events, also I wouldn't join if they were selling any items or services because that ruins the whole thing.

Sony has said they no longer have classic code due to years and years of rewrites and a revolving door of devs. This is why recent progressions servers had the code they did.

There has been talk in deep dark back rooms (foh boards) of new classic server coming from sony with few details. This post seems to suggest that Uthgaard has taken Nilbogs code and given it to sony for this new server.
