If the server crashed while you were mid-fight, you're not dead. Last server crash, I was fighting a sentient bile in HS and had three or four other mobs rooted nearby. I logged back in alive, with the same HP and mana as when the crash happened.

However, when you login, you may die. Depends on what is spawned at your location.
