I've never looked into non-official servers, and haven't played EQ since all the expansions/safe zones killed PVP, but if there were a classic-EQ PVP server I would play it. And I can say with certainty that many others would come out of the woodwork.

Sullon Zek rules:
No level limits on who you can attack, and coining within 5 lvls.
Teams: Good, Neutral, Evil
no x-teaming: grouping, guilding, trading, healing
No uncoded pvp rules, use in-game PVP solutions for resolution

It's the only way to prevent x-teaming, prevent bloobie crying, and keep the server PVP focused.

A server with no expansions/safe zones and Sullon Zek rules would be Eureka to many people.

Lauaranthalasa, Silvarathalasa, Volaki, Rinadwena, ect.
