Well with a response like that, I have a question for you that I have been wondering for weeks, not that i'm giving you any special attention or anything, heh, don't flatter yourself...

If that is you in your avatar, what exactly ARE you??? A tomboy girl, or a very flamboyant male? Just curious. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
im a tomgirl you fuck. way to bring looks into the matter.

If that was your only retort you should have not even replied.

Thanks for your efforts and keeping us updated Rogean.

I like the 50% exp bonus, I appreciate it. I know that it will help with retention.

Lately I've been having fun on PEQ, and was getting a little more reluctant to say goodbye to it, but knowing that for a week I will have a bonus while playing my character, you better believe I will be clearing my gaming schedule to take advantage of this to get my character through the 30's while it is a little easier.

So thank you again, I'll be online and taking advantage of the bonus. Bye PEQ, I had fun.

You realize that this is offensive, right? The year is 2010, but even in 1999 there were far more choices than girly girls and manly men. I've been an Atvaata fan since someone tried to start a "who's hotter" thread and she told everyone involved to fuck off.

i never use forums or anything but here goes. ive been saying we should implement chat channels not to long ago. here's the issue, you have one side saying that server wide chat is killing the classic experience, shrinking the world, and having inappropriate conversations to which i agree with.
ON the other side, people are saying the server isnt big enough to go without channels, that people wont be able to find groups, well, lets find a solution for both.

lets bring /ooc /aucion to only zone wide, then implement only ONE chat channel, only one. one chat channel that you manually have to /join and then its specificlly used for finding groups. this isnt totally classic but deffinetly alot closer, the world wont feel so shrunk, and the argument that the server isnt big enough and poeple wont be able to find groups, people can just /join the group finding channel. and if you wanna say on a social level, it wont be big enough, in classic if you remember you had to find groups and actually talk to people, make friends and join guilds, and if the /auction is zonewide, you would have to go to a populated zone (east commonlands tunnel, freeport, gfay ect)zone where people sold iteams, bringing /auction /ooc to zonewide ACTUALLY forces everyone to be more social. all problems solved, someone comment on this and point out its flaws.

Rogean while I, and many others I'm sure, appreciate the gesture and intention behind the 50% xp bonus week, I must urge you to reconsider.

In addition to what has so far already been mentioned by others against this, which I agree with, the amount of time and effort invested compared to xp gained has not changed for anyone because of this down time. If people's characters had somehow suffered a roll-back causing them to lose their recent progress, it would be different - but that is not the case.

The unintended consequence of this might be, that people who won't be able to play much next week, will feel cheated or as having 'missed out' compared to others, thus making them sad or annoyed instead of grateful. In essence people will benefit unequally even though everyone "suffered" the same.

However, I'd like thank you and your team for the time, dedication and effort you have been and are puting into this project. You have brought joy to hundreds, maybe even thousands of people, and you should be very proud of that. Kudos!

I like the 50% bonus. It might allow the lower levels to catch up to somewhere near what they would have been , had the server not gone down.

I like the idea of adding de mask to assassin's loot table for a week in celebration of this joyous occasion more, though.

I don't like the idea of exp week, probably because I'm already 50 and have no desire to do it over again lol.

On a different note, I really hope this exp bonus is a one time thing, even if the server comes down again. I'm not sure anyone will understand or be familiar with my reference, but during the Korean war, American PoWs were brainwashed through a pretty simple process: getting them to do things they would not normally do one step at a time, eventually building up to make these PoWs become completely irrational and change allegiances to the Korean side.

I guess this will be a better example:Getting a new car and telling your friends not to eat or drink in it. One of your friends asks if they can chew gum, and you don't want to say yes but you comply. Next, someone asks if they can bring a drink in your car, and once again, you don't want to say yes, but you do. Taking that first little step makes one that much more inclined to take another little step.

Anyways, I'm rambling, but the point of this is, The GMs are granting this 50% exp bonus for the downtime. I hope this will be a one time thing, but I worry the GMs may be more easily inclined to grant future exp bonuses or things of this nature. I also saw something about people receiving potential prizes or gifts for their donations. It's fine if we have to pay for this game, which I'd be more than willing to, but trading money for advantages is going to ruin this server and make it like all the other emulated servers.

Hopefully I don't get flamed for this, I'm just expressing my concerns for the well-being of the server.

Adding a source mainly for credibility, so people can't rampantly flame: http://www.psychologistworld.com/inf...ainwashing.php

I need to makeup the exp my sk lost from not playing! 50% isnt a huge fucking bonus, you people are acting like its a double week. It's not going to impact much of anything at all which wouldnt of already occured during the servers downtime (level wise).

And why would anyone who might not be able to play during the full exp bonus time (family work ect, i myself work 7-8 hours a day) feel like theyre being cheated? Because they couldnt slam red bulls and power game? That point is quite null im sorry to say.
In fact, it should *please* those folks who dont get alot of time to play seeing as they've lost out on exp gained over the past week (provided they could have been playing).

This. This. This. This.

Also it's not classic.

If you're going to mess with exp penalties, why not take away class exp penalties, which is classic (implemented during Velious).
