I'm probably too weak to get what I want and likely the entire human species is to weak to maintain or create more liberty.

The Expanse pictured the global hegemony perfectly. Everyone lives in slums and is gated and fenced into their specific privileged zones except for a very select few who are either criminals, corrupt, militant, or in control and selecting who gets the opportunities themselves.

What is so interesting is how well China has commoditized snitching, spying, and turning eachother in for small rewards, like a state monitored cellphone.

The US is almost already there, it's still very factional tho. If we ever lose our division, either way, we'll just be a China clone dutifully reporting to the global elite.
