Lul. Funny how the statute of limitations on the backwards glance ends precisely 200 years ago, too.

Dont look further back than that, or anywhere else....

When your entire mindset is one of "waiting on the world to change" (whilst doing absolutely nothing to personally improve your station in life) you tend to get paltry results.

I tend to look at things a bit more macro then:

"all of this generation -insert here- has some kind of personal character flaw."

I don't know if such a thing can occur. But I'm pretty sure our modern struggles with youth falling behind youth of past times has more to do with facts like:

We live in the Golden Age of Rich People Not Paying Their Taxes

Basically millennials and Z are both actually more responsible with their money and more practical with life planning than the previous generations. Sure you can find a dipshit 18-30 year old in 2016 just like you could in 1962 or 1992 -- the point is the latter was technically more common despite any "sense" you have about what's true.

I think its just because of the internet and globalization. You old farts have to acknowledge your generation would have been different with globalization plus the internet. companies don't need to train people with globalization and the internet. They can just demand you pay for your own training somewhere else, get a house* in the city you need to be in, get a car, and then apply for a job you have already been doing for a few years.

The older generations have an easier time with this....I wonder why that is....

Maybe its because they already have a car, a job, live in a place where those 2 things are? I didn't want to write that last sentence but I honestly don't know if your average American considers that obvious yet. It sure as shit looks obvious to me.

*LOL, lets get real. It's more like rent a room in a relatively shitty building for 800 a month+ 1/3 utilities these days. At least if you want to reach your career potential in a large city. I personally settled for a smaller local economy rather than try to make the transition. Couldn't moved to a city if I wanted to ATM.

In 2014, after putting in 10 years of "duty" to my manipulative "polyamorous" wife (to put it lightly), i finished up the last year of college sleeping in a tent and showering in the campus gym daily (on loans that i am not delinquent on). I then proceeded to couch surf while working a minimum wage job for 6 months to buy a car.

Then i moved back to san jose, went 24/7 blitzkrieg on the job hunt, targetting companies i intended to work for and solicited them instead of waiting on a job posting. The job i ended up taking interviewed me on day 3 of being in town. I began working on day 5. I slept in my car and picked up a gym membership, where i continued to maintain appearances for the next 6 months before paying off all of the joint debts on my credit history so that i was rent-to-able.

In the meanwhile, my "wife" moved in with her "husband", who, it turns out, she was married to since they eloped at the age of 18, which she never thought important to tell me prior to exchanging vows bigamously.

Child support was paid the entire time. When they broke up about 18 months ago, and my ex moved back to CA, i took her to court and sued her for regular visitation.

I did not complain aboit any of this the entire time it was transpiring. In fact, i was just happy to be rid of her trifling ways. To get back to center, i pulled myself up by my own bootstraps from a position that you could not even imagine being in, child.

lol our education is terrible and for over a generation its been cool to be stupid.

the family unit has been culturally destroyed

children are raised on the internet

their younger brothers and sisters are raised on mobile phones

you think its other people not paying taxes that is the problem??

LOL can you please, just once in your life, NOT look to the government as the entire definition of who you are?

Complaining and insisting on reality changing to befit you is a ridiculous concept. The world is not "fair", our legal system is not "fair". You cannot control the entire world. You can only control yourself, and that is done through your actions, and controlling that demon of self doubt that never DOES anything, but insists on elevating itself above your SELF. Take action. Own your life.
