I'm more familiar with Bookchin than Ocalan. I don't know what you were reading that you were not understanding, but I read The Ecology of Freedom a long time ago and do suggest it. It covers his entire philosophy pretty well. I've seen this referred to as Communalism, Democratic Confederalism (via the PKK, or Apoism as they might call it), Libertarian Socialism, Anarcho-Communism, Green Anarchism, blah blah blah endless names for everything, I don't like getting tripped up too much over names for nebulous and malleable concepts like political/economic systems

I do not claim perfection in any of this or anything at all in general, just that it's an interesting synthesis of a lot of the -isms with an actual real-life working example to look at and possibly learn from. It would not be easy to graft on anything like this within America, but nothing worth doing is easy
Rob,
I said I would buy it, ecology of freedom is on the way. About to start dream differed.

I'm old enough to remember democrats campaigning on libraries. Now I am worried because nobody gives a shit about books anymore.

Hear about the redneck town defunding their library because they couldn't threaten people and get LGBT books pulled from the shelves?

yea I did, figured you would be the one to bring it up. Both parties love to ban books, top tier form of virtual signaling. I found a starter set for you if want to start your reading journey.

After you are done with those you can step it up a notch.

Yea, I have not used a library since the internet, but my book collection keeps growing because you cannot own anything that is digital.

I have. There is a lot of research data, thesis, old newspaper microfilm, and plain old books that haven't been uploaded to the 'net. I found (as an example) much better period appropriate information on the qualities of wrought iron produced by finery forges vs that produced in puddling furnaces in libraries than I've ever found on the 'net. A lot of that sort of very specific, old information is likely going to be eventually lost to time as libraries trash it without ever scanning and uploading it.

On the other hand, in doing the above type of research I also saw plenty of material that looked like it had never been touched. Information is defacto lost if it's never used anyway.

That kind of stuff is fascinating. I've always wondered how much technology and information was lost during the burning of Alexandria. I wonder where we would be at today tech wise if we still had all those records.
