earlier civ games were tougher due to rape stacks of units. terrain is key in civ V. so if youre going to try and burn my geekdom at least make sure you know what the fuck youre talkin about love [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

civilization call to power was one of my favorite games.
never played any of the other ones however.
Age of empires is prolly the greatest game EVER tho.!

civ 5 not bad now that all the tech issues are fixed bro

game is well balanced militarily and combat is satisfying

no stacks of doom mean battlefronts that are as herculean to manage as they should be

massive expansion is profitable instead of impossibly expensive a la civ4 so you can take over the world with your borders pre-communism

Civ4 is definitely less accessible and deeper but civ5 wasn't trying to be civ 4 expanded edition.
