Not selfish at all. Nobody owes anyone anything in this game, especially their time, when they aren't grouped together.
If you don't want to pay what someone is charging for a port, a rez, or whatever, get it from someone else. Or walk your happy ass there. Ports aren't required, they are a luxury.

I do /ooc porting for donation... donation. Its a small fee for taking time out of my day to make your day more convenient. I never ask for a lot, of course some people are more generous than others. I also always do CR's free, and port noobs for like, a skin or some meat, something for trades, that way they feel they've payed.
