You go back and forth between providing counter-points and just throwing out logical fallacies. The former is the basis for healthy debate, the latter just makes it look like you don't have any ground left to stand on.

Now, I realize that this is P99 RNF so I don't hold anyone to actually debate a topic properly, but "debating" with logical fallacies doesn't go anyone any good.
Pretty slick, Tokage...but that the citizens of this country don't have the collective will, nor will they ever have to fight a direct confrontation against their own government aren't logical fallacies, they're fact.

Individual gun rights equaling a defense against tyranny in the US is itself a logical fallacy.

The internet and free communication are much more powerful tools against tyranny in this technological age, and that's been proven.

If Tyranny and Oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy.

I agree with that. If the government comes knockin on your door, what are you going to do? You think you stand a chance with your semi automatics against tanks and armored vehicles? If the government wanted to wipe out an area, they would just do it. You wouldn't see it coming.

The second amendment was written at a time where everyone could easily have the same level of technology because nothing complex existed. The second amendment never kept up with the times, so its irrelevant as a measure of keeping the government in check. Not only can the average citizen not afford tanks or anti-aircraft weapons, they don't allow you to have them. Its fine to use firearms for hunting, sport, etc, but don't kid yourselves if you think you are going to be able to protect yourselves from the government.

And, if sport, hunting, or personal safety are the only reasons to keep firearms, then there is no reason to have extended clips. If you can't bring down a deer in 2 or 3 shots, then you suck as a hunter and should learn how to actually use that rifle. If you have a handgun and are defending your family, you don't need a clip with 20 or 30 rounds in it. If you do, again, you are a lousy shot and need to spend some more time at the range. Learn how to actually shoot.

ITT Bros plan to shoot down Apache helicopters and F-18s with thier home arsenal.

If you need guns to protect you from your own government, where are you now? Congress has declared war on the American people and all you do is drink Mt dew and watch Archer. Dont get me wrong, I like Archer.

I want to see the scenario where guns are banned and the police's method of collecting them is to dispatch Apaches and tanks to your doorstep.

tl;dr

A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

If you want to own guns that reflect a "modern" regulated militia, then it is required to serve in your state national guard aka your militia. No questions. You need to be deployed now- good you have your M-16. Why should you own a military grade weapon if you have no use in using it in a qualified way. (Think Switzerland or mandatory military service countries)

The right to own guns is contingent on protecting your community or participating in a regulated militia (i.e. not Billy Bob's pals that are a "neighborhood watch").

If you want to own sporting type weapons, including but not limited to bolt action rifles, pump or double barrel shot guns, bows, and certain handguns appropriate for hunting, then do so. But register them when you buy your hunting stamps from your state Department of Natural Resources (or whatever).

Not hard.

Way too many dumb hick Americans in this thread waving around guns because their dicks are too small. You all need to learn to be more cultured and European.
Yeah, enjoying target shooting as a hobby directly relates to the sizes of ones penis. You sound a bit insecure to me.

This conflict will never be resolved. It is merely a continued battle between textualists and loose constructionists.

While there appear to be some strict constructionists up in dis bitch, no one really takes them seriously.

I like the part where clubs & hammers kill more people each year that rifles that 'need to be banned' because they are 'such a danger to society'. I also like the part where beating people to death with bare hands or feet kills twice as many people as rifles.

Outlaw fists and all blunt objects? I mean, better safe than sorry... Think of the kids!
