I've never seen an election-night dynamic like this.

The Democrats voted by mail it seems. So we get the results for Georgia let's say and it's Biden 60 Trump 40 and then the results trickle in and it's a matter to see if Trump's MAGA army showed up in person to catch up and maybe take it.

And because the mail-in votes are already tabulated, when they release the state totals those results are already there.

This is why I'm freaking out over Miami-Dade. Historically solid Dem, with only the mail-in votes Trump is only a couple of points behind. Can he take that whole county?

Personal Anecdote:

This morning I went to vote in a small village in upstate NY. My wife voted early, she said about 30 people in line. I went a couple of hours later, same thing.

This afternoon I drove my aunt to vote in suburban NJ. No line. No one inside. We just walked right in. They were like everyone voted by mail, but here you go. In and out in 5 mins.

Rural people in conservative areas came out, suburban liberals mailed it in.

I just hope we aren’t left waiting for an actual winner for over a month.

I think this is best treated as a bandaid. Quick removal vs slowly painful.
