Two wrongs don’t make a right. I agree with danth. Everyone in this story is a shithead

Edit: this was in response to Pokesan, not rob’s comment

Every time I see a heavy handed raid on a house, and look at all of the military-grade gear that cops get, I think of that phrase "when all you have is a hammer, everything begins to look like a nail" or whatever it is

Happens all the time, and it shouldn't, but I personally get irritated by highly selective, situational outrage when people like me have been saying shit like this for decades

Yes, they raided his house.

No, God doesn’t want unborn kids to die.

WHEN PROTESTORS TOOK TO THE STREETS OF FERGUSON, MO., IN 2014 in response to the police killing of 18-year-old Michael Brown, they also turned the nation’s attention to a related issue: the growing militarization of local law enforcement.

But, in practice, the president’s much-ballyhooed reforms to the 1033 program have done little to stem the flow of battlefield gear to cops.

In fact, the total value of equipment distributed through the program actually increased in the year following the ban, according to figures provided to In These Times by Michelle McCaskill, media relations chief for the DOD's Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), which oversees the shipments.

So far in fiscal year 2016, (Oct. 1, 2015 - September 13), the DLA has transferred $494 million worth of gear to local police departments, In These Times learned from McCaskill.
Well, at least there are NO POLITICAL LEADERS looking to change the militarization of our police.

You're the one wasting everyone's time by defending this nonsense with your usual ambiguous one liners that completely gloss over how ridiculously heavy handed this supposed "enforcement" is

Prediction: His retort to this will be a confusing, cryptic allusion to something you've never heard of.
