Here's a story for you guys wondering how red is.

Grinded my first character on the server to 27. Had some fun, met a buddy to duo gargs in OoT for some spell money. I was wearing all cloth and leather at 27 like a boss druid when I went to an HHK group. I was in the group for almost 4 hours, when I needed to take an afk. I told my group I needed an afk, came back in 10 minutes after fixing my heater which wasnt working. I was dead, my group had flamed me for being gone "too long" and looted all of my spell gold. I was literally running around in all cloth and leather and lost my entire 150p to 4 guys who were friends in HHK and twinked, and I guess upset. I looted my body by my group who just killed me and apologized if I offended them and started to run to zoneline. I wasn't going to stay in the group. The group leader messages me and says "All you have to do is ask to be let back in." I said no thanks, he said fair enough, and when I noticed he had looted all my money I asked if we would return it so I could buy my spells. When he said no, I logged off and deleted my character. No time for a community like this, PVP or not. Gamers have changed in the modern era, and this server is simply dreadful.

This is the experience you will have on red. OOC is pure guild-drama annoyance, players who are twinked and level 9 will run through crushbone and other critical grinding areas for low and new players, kill them all, loot them, move on, rinse and repeat every few hours.

By the way, I don't even have a character on blue. I love to pvp, and gave this server a solid chance. If you at ALL enjoy the EverQuest experience and want a good community and pvp, this server is NOT for you.

Lesson; Log out when you're going to afk for a significant amount of time and always have your money in the bank. If you're in HHK doing goblins you're literally 20 feet from a banker and as a druid I'm sure you could have used it.

You ground a druid to 27 in a few hours and left red because you died and couldn't go put your plat in a bank that was right there? How is that giving red a chance?

PU groups on red are a risky business. If you had found a guild and learned more about what red is you'd have had a better outlook. The FIRST thing you do is accept the fact that you're going to be PK'd. We have low tolerance for people that think this is blue with added PvP. It's not blue. Fortunately for you - I guess - you realized that fairly quickly.

he's right about the red community being toxic though

encountering a normal, mentally stable person on red is like finding an albino animal in the wild

don't expect anything beyond a cesspool of delinquents. but if that kind of thing appeals to you, proceed on over to red because you're probably one too

Eh...i have had pretty much nothing but good experiences on Red. And I am horrible at pvp. My wizard is 56, cleric 53, sk 50. So i think i have played enough to have a valid opinion.

Yea you run into some retards, griefers etc. But blue has more than its fair share of these same types of people as well. Just instead of killing you they are KSing, ninja looting, training, stalling raid mobs, camp stealing, or just being general tools.

If you join the pvp server with the expectation that you are going to pvp you will love it. If someone is griefing you then kill him, leave, log out, ask a friend to come kill him. You have lots of options. Getting mad is not a good one however.

An example of this would be a few weeks ago I was lvling in CoM on my SK. Another SK in range of me inspected(saw i was twinked to the gills) and ran off. He ended up trying to grief a shaman in patchwork and other crappy noobie gear because he was easy prey. Did the shaman scream, cry and delete his toon?

Nope, he asked me if I would help. So, between pulls for my group i would run over to stables and run him off till he plugged. This SK is a prime example of a red douchebag, but for every one of him there are 30 or 40 good people who will help you.

Later that night I (thought) i logged off. Turns out I didn't and that same douchebag SK bind camped me for 10-20 free pvp kills and looted a few hundred pp.

Oh well, my bad for not making sure I logged out. Lesson learned, character not deleted.

I greatly enjoy Red when i have the time to play. The raiding can't be beat for someone with a busy schedule. I know when raid mobs spawn and simply log on and kill them. No poop socking, no fte, no wasting days of my life staring at a spawn points.

And even being shittastic at pvp, i still get kills once in awhile, and if i don't want to pvp, it's real easy to avoid it.

I come back, my party has flamed me for being gone too long, killed me, and looted the measily 100-200pp i had earned just that day giving out SoW and buffs in Kelethin just for spell money. I looted my corpse, asked if i could have my money back and told my group leader i didnt mean offense. He refused, i realized how pvp was on this server, and quit.

Dont waste your time playing on this server. Its a toxic, terrible community
serves you right for not banking your money, the fucking bank is seconds away in hhk.

I was on red grouped in unrest the other day with some guy named hardcore, who was a complete and utter retard, and I thought it was hilarious. He was a druid that stood and meleed all the mobs, didnt cast a fucking spell, talking about how he knew everyone on the server as if that mattered ( I mean 300 pop, thats like saying you know everyone in the trailer park) Later on a monk named suicide, came and ganked a friend of mine. After that Hardcore told the group " dont worry guize, I know him and I told him to stop" which I thought oddd. Why would your friend need to be told that? Anyhow, later on our group got ambushed while killing a ghoul and hardcore died losing XP from the ghoul in the process because I got tired of healing the scrub. So me and my friends told him that the ghoul was our friend and we told him to stop but he wouldnt listen, which made him all cranky.

After this he offered to PL the group we were in with his naked druid, because that works. He tried that for a while as me and my friend laughed at him and then gave up and left zone. I started talking to suicide, ended up getting along and he PLd us for about an hour or so. He is a pretty cool dudeski. Thanks again!

My lesson learned that day was stay quiet and learn who the ree rees are. Have fun with those, and get along with the people who arent complete fucking imbeciles. There are alot of dumbs on red that you can just have fun with. Even though it seems that alot of guilds are just trying to get gear, its not really the determining factor in PVP, so you can still survive, and win. Its frustrating at times for sure, but fun.

eq community is toxic in general. People fighting over nonexistant shit, selling nonexistant shit for real life money, people freaking out over you inspecting their nonexistant armor. The game is free for people who live on welfare to play.

The only difference from nice people you find on blue vs red is people on red front an agressive attitude, if you can break through that barrier im sure the people on red are no different from blue.
