I bottle 5 gallons of this tonight after I get home from playin pool and the sorts: 6lb light malt extract (light base) 5 oz chocolate malt (flavor, color) 8 oz dextrin malt (body) 8 oz 6-row american malt (flavor, lightness) 1lb crystal 60l (caramel flavor) 2 oz east kent golding and 3 oz fuggle hops (meld well together, offers a mellow earth flavor) whitbread english ale yeast (slightly fruity but lets the malts do the talking) Overboard on malts? Perhaps. It's so cheap to buy grains that I'm not concerned, just more interested in the outcome. | ||

![]() It's totally badass to see my hometown hero getting some love! Founder's Kentucky Breakfast Stout is pretty much the only dark beer I'm willing to drink.

If you're into IPAs like I am try out Founder's Double Trouble sometime - it's the bee's knees. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] It's also funny (and awesome) that the two cities I consider myself to be from both have badass motherfucking breweries. Bell's Two Hearted ale is my comfort in a troubled world, ahhhhh - probably the greatest beer ever. [You must be logged in to view images. ![]() Right now: Brewing a Christmas Ale.
Spicy ginger and nutmeg start with a sweet honey and orange peel finish, all with an undertone of spicy pine and clover. Based off of a traditional wassail recipe. This beer is expected to be consumed at slightly below room temperature to satisfy the seasonal tongue and also keep you toasty warm. ABV hopefully in the 7% range. Next on the list: a spiced bourbon stout. Light chocolate stout with oak spicing alongside a black pepper and Kentucky bourbon flavour. Vanilla note finishes. Also expected to be a room-warm beer for those winter months. Expected ABV in the 6-7% range. It might end up higher~ | ||
