Black Reaver Fails:
Well last night I was bored, so I toured the world buffing xp groups and smacking stuff with my RoA, but I eventually ended up in CoM and figured I'd log out there and give black reaver a go in the morning. For whatever reason, I totally forgot that there is a solo reaver just behind the locked door at moat. I was thinking the only solo reaver was up on the final platform, so I got up there and (stupidly?) bound on the ledge there to easily get back up there after hatting/zoning. The bile on the catwalk was 45, I think as good of a pet as I can get in CoM, so I got him normal weapons, ac, bedlam, rune, feedback, plus had myself fully buffed up. It was quite an ordeal keeping everything fresh on myself and my pet while also getting to full mana for the fight. The first attempt or two I just walked my pet by the door to aggro the reaver (and light blue fog golem) that were inside. I actually ended up with my single most successful pull on my first attempt: http://postimg.org/image/fjgvhqyvh/ I mezzed the add as I watched my pet start doing a surprising amount of damage to the golem. Here you can see my pet has just lost bedlam + rune, while dealing ~20% of the reaver's HP (and some to the golem I think)... which I thought wasn't too bad since he took hits from both of them while aggroing: http://postimg.org/image/qpij4os1v/ But I decided I wanted to root CC the fog golem, and when I backed my pet off to get him out of it's melee range, the "fun" for the next 2 hours of reaver pull attempts began. http://postimg.org/image/lppoahbsz/ Yep. That's me, my pet, and the reaver down on the ground near moat. As soon as I tried to back pet off of the reaver, the reaver ran directly away from my pet and I and fell down the gap in the catwalk. Then he summoned my pet down and I followed, and we ended up where you see in that screenshot. Reaver was working my pet over pretty good, but my pet took a lot of hits without me tossing him any bedlam/rune while we were coming down, so I thought things were still ok. Then a good 8-10 mobs popped out of the wall immediately to my left, knocked me to low hp instantly, and I got summoned and died. Oh hey, black reavers don't hit for 144 like most level 51s. That's fun! After receiving a few comments from people in CoM about my train (sorry! the pathing is worse than I expected + I WAS trying this at 9 am to hopefully avoid anyone xping in here + drumas will rez you when he gets power back + I'll buff you all after rezzes!), I tried some different things. Here is me standing on the other side of the platform hoping the reaver wouldn't spaz out: http://postimg.org/image/le7b6uqnx/ Before even aggroing the reaver though, my pet fell off the ramp himself (twice). Here is me trying a new tactic. I got targetted on the reaver with some gnome and bind sight fanciness and was trying to pull him out to my rooted pet with a crit lull fail: http://postimg.org/image/ezotbrojx/ He resisted every lull, of course, but in 30ish lulls I didn't get a single crit fail. Finally I tried to clear out the few mobs in front of the platform: http://postimg.org/image/aiz7lc3z5/ But again, pet and reaver fell through the gap and just ported around in mid air and ran in place trying to get to each other and I decided to leave. THEN I remembered there was a solo reaver by moat and logged out in disgust to save my rez timers until Drumas (I've got a thing for cleric's with D-names apparently?) comes to rez. It was a super lame experience. The fact that I knew the fight would be difficult when I did get a successful pull meant I was super OCD about making sure I started every pull attempt with as much duration on buffs and as much mana as posible. So, like, when I tried to pull with lull fails, I spammed 10-12 lulls then I gave up, broke charm, rerooted pet, medded up, redid bedlam and feedback on myself and pet, medded back up, recharmed, relulled the fog golem, reacquired target on the reaver.......... yeah. And there were the two deaths, and handful of runs out of the zone, and recasts of all my buffs after deaths, and re-runes after failed attempts. So lame! Hopefully once I get rezzed up I'll have better luck with the reaver inside the castle, probably tomorrow morning.

IIRC I did the reaver by chain petting 3 on him. I am pretty sure I did not use the strings. There are plenty of mobs up there to chain fortunately.

I don't think so, his dps is just in line with a jugg in seb who casts spells, so its not like crazy dps. Secondly I am no enchanter but i believe he is immune to stuns because he is 56+. I do think it is very possible without dictate though, just have an allure wand ready in case charm breaks (or strings if you have them). I would have rune/bedlam up for tanking UL on charm breaks though.

Also east stuff is pretty resisty. I would say 20-30% chance. If you get summoned into 6 mobs, you'll be dead before you know what hit you. The problem with Dictate is that 30 seconds just isn't that long. I've given some thought to stuff but I think very few mobs have enough dps to kill something or few enough hp to die in 30 seconds. For example, I was thinking about the Protector (ignoring the fact that he is immune to charm for the moment) who will triple for 451. With haste/muzzle/weapons lets say he gets in 2 attacks for full damage each round of 1.6 seconds. That works out to 900/1.6 or about 550 dps; in 30 seconds that's 15k - not bad but not enough to kill a juggernaut let alone Trakanon.

I decided to clean up a few of my unfinished mobs on the Disciple/Master ranks, and I thought Estrella (L51) would be easy enough to just kill with the RoA/Animation. She sees invis so she can be easily separated from her guards.
[You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] However, fighting underwater is kind of a pain. I got a few interrupts and in addition I attracted a few of those annoying mini fish. Suddenly I was in danger of embarrassing myself on a disciple level kill. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] Fortunately enchanters can't really die to L51 mobs. After Zenarer bit the dust I kept her dazzled for 5-10 minutes while I med up pretty fast with manatap and my new hero Kibn cleaned up the minifish. [You must be logged in to view images. I got this tip from Zephany; you don't sink and get unforced channeling errors nearly as much underwater with Levitation. Unfortunately, you still get massive knockback from melee hits so channeling through strikes is definitely harder. edit: Just noticed this is post #300. I'm pretty happy about this thread!

Fun Fact: a cliff golem in OT cons yellow to my 57 monk, so maybe he is level 58?

Getting back to his room was easy, of course. Lull ftw. I earned a couple blues of 58 messing around in and just outside of the room while learning the pathing and figuring out how I wanted to time my kill when TCK did pop. I messed around fighting back by the teleporter, but for whatever reason I haven't had the energy to pay attention to details like spawn times... so I basically just kept fighting outside the door and killing anything nearby in a faceroll bruteforce noskill kinda way... heh. Anyway. After the server came back up this morning, I made my way into north (the whole damn place seemed like it was biles, qq) and found TCK up. I killed the two mobs just inside the door, lulled the whole room, petted the skele that pathed up the stairs to the door, AE mezzed TCK and his pet then used single on TCK while the pet came running to get smoked by my pet. Unfortunately when TCK mez wore off and came running, my charm broke also, and 2 stuns got interrupted + I got poison doted (turned out to just be VoTS but I was worried it was ebolt), so I hatted. On my return, I just lulled/invised all the way to the back room. While re-killing the mobs near the door a pather brought 3 mobs from behind me to join the party. I killed all this and kept a level 46 skele and gave him some lariats to ensure this ended well (though really, I guess my 113 MR wouldn't have saved me if my pet turned on me with those weapons). I pulled TCK like I did last time. This time my pet killed the pet by the time TCK arrived. I tashed, rooted, slowed, and started helping make sure he didn't get off many spells. I think my pet was only at 55-60% hp when I pulled, but AQ and 2 weps and a bunch of stuns quickly led to the screenshot below: http://i47.tinypic.com/34ik4zo.jpg Summoning mobs from here on out [You must be logged in to view images.
