If shamans truly were better than mage at DPS, why would I be any more upset about it than the fact enchanter is a disgustingly overpowered class? I know this game is imbalanced.

The thing is, though: you're not right, DSM. Mage is a better group DPS than shaman.

And why is this so difficult for you to admit? Shaman is an overall more powerful and more interesting class than mage. Noone here debates this. You can't concede over something so innocuous?

Nobody has argued Mages aren't a DPS class. The question is how much their DPS matters when looking at a four man group.

You missed my edit, I misread your post:

I just made a mistake and thought you said "Mages are the better group class". You need to calm down lol. It is not my fault you are refreshing the page every 2 seconds in the hopes I respond.

The problem is you haven't shown the Shaman's utility is less useful than the Mage's DPS.

However, I have shown a Mage's DPS isn't giving you any more kills per hour. The math is still true.

Right now, the data shows Shaman Utility > DPS when DPS is giving you 0 extra kills per hour in a session.

Having better safety and more camp options is better than useless DPS.

Unlike yourself, I can admit when I made a mistake. I simply read your sentence wrong.

I am sorry you are refreshing every two seconds, so you won't get to see my final post.

You probably need to take a break.

I am going where the data leads, and right now the Mage simply isn't offering any more kills per hour. Nobody has been able to show any other benefit to DPS other than kills per hour and safety. Shamans cover the safety part and offer more camp options. I am really not sure why this is such a problem.
