![]() This enthusiasm for teams is probably misplaced, but at the same time, it may be the only chance for a decent population PvP server... And at least it is enthusiasm.
Red population hasn't done anything more than edge up temporarily no matter what change has been added. Maybe the damage that was done by the awful resist code and constant exploitation just can't be undone at this point. Maybe people can't justify sinking hours and hours of time into something legitimately when other players did it in a few minutes by exploiting. For the last 2 years this server has just been one exploit after another, but it is in a pretty decent place right now, and could possibly be really legitimate by next patch. Fuck it, call red99 a beta test and relaunch. Even if teams only hits a population of 300 it is a hell of a lot better than where we are at now. PS: When you see a big number of logged in players on the p99 home page, log yourself into the game and do a /who all class count. That will show you the exact number of players actually active on the server and it is always about 15-20% lower than what is publicly displayed. Last week when we showed 190 players at the login server there were 158 actual players in the game.

Well, rest assured that even though your response indicates your own acknowledgement that Nihilum has become synonymous with exploitation to the rest of the server... In this specific case I am just referring to the various bugs or code errors had previously sat unfixed for months or years. You already brought up killing nagafen with 2 groups of mid and low 40s, posting screens of it all over the boards, and then continuing to do it for weeks after, so I can skip that. Thanks for saving me the time. Specifically, it wasn't just one guild or another that abused the shit out of sword of runes proccing 20x more often than it should. By the time that fiasco was all unwound, population had dropped from 800 to under 400 as everyone knew that all the people who had made the run to 40+ in the first few weeks of the server were essentially rewarded for their exploitation. Specifically, it took what, over a year and a half for devs to even start dealing with invis pulling which allowed players to simply skip any mechanic or difficulty built into basically any dungeon in the game. Again, not really one guild or another is to blame for this one, just a shortfall that makes the game itself less enjoyable to people who want to play EQ rather than hoard items. Specifically, how much easier was it to farm trak when talisman of shadoo and resist poison stacked? Sorry, this one does stray from my general focus on neutral bugs, because this one was really only abused by one guild. Or maybe I'm wrong and an extra 40 resist isn't actually that useful when first attacking content. Specifically, I'll just lump 6+ months of 18 sec tstaff stun, unresistable high sun spam, 13 sec bard stuns, fast casting wizard spells with infinite range, and undispellable necro taps over time into a cluster as well. Just stupid shit that would make someone who would otherwise enjoy the game and maybe stay, instead just decide it wasn't worth the time.
