Why not have a perma death discord server with scoreboard etc.? Seems ez to do, have no gm intervention apart from hacking, prosper.

So perma death in PvP or all aspects of the game?

Also, scoreboard seems kind of dumb with perma death; if you are still alive, that means you have been winning. Although honestly I am bias against leader boards in general since PvP is so unbalanced in EQ, it just encourages people to play the handful of classes that are the "flavor of the box."

Could do it either way I guess, I would prefer perma death in all aspects to avoid circumventing perma death via manastone and the like. Scoreboards are imperfect and in a perfect world you'd like assists to be tracked as well but I was aiming for something easy and quick to launch.

Back in the day my wife met another player in EQ that played under self enforced perma death. The only reason I remember was because while she was grouped with him, he died, and freaked the fuck out on the cleric in their group. I think it was his 5th and highest lvl character at that point, around lvl 30. Boy did he go off the deep end, I should have saved the screen shot she took.

The code for Vanilla and database is out in the wild and good to go. Its also easy to replicate. Vanilla EMU is rockin. Make one. Ask devnoob if you could participate in his project and host it.

The only reason they dont is probably because their busy hosting their current project.

Then you can join the ranks of corrupt gm's, guides, server admins that the community just loves to hate. Will give you lots of material to wall of text with.

But I would play on your discord server!

yeah dude, this server/pvp is stale because the server is filled with abunch of pussies that all joined nihilum. If you guys had some balls and didn't all zerg to 1 guild this server would have been pretty fun.
